Legendary R&B group Boyz II Men kicked off the countdown to their highly anticipated concert, set for Saturday, October 26, at the University of the West Indies, Mona with a grand launch event at the Pegasus Hotel on Thursday night.
Hosted by the talented Deborah ‘Debbie’ Bissoon, the launch drew fans of the timeless R&B group and media alike, setting the tone for what promises to be a memorable show.
The event was organised by promoters Live and Direc, with special guests and concert opener Jamaica’s powerhouse, Tessanne Chin, and sultry reggae talent Lila Iké, who could not make it to the launch but will also be joining the iconic group on stage on October 26.

“I’m so very excited to be a part of this production. I am a fan first of Boyz II Men. I grew up singing their songs. They are probably why we started singing because my brother would force us to learn the harmonies so that he could sing the lead,” she said. “We have a special connection with Boyz II Men, their vocals and their ability—just incredible, so I am honoured to be on this show.”
She also mentioned her excitement to be performing with fellow Jamiaca vocalist, Lila Ike who she referred to as “an exceptional young lady and artiste”.
The evening offered guests a lively atmosphere, complete with a variety of drinks, appetizers, and good vibes with entertainment from the upcoming duo, The Prodigy with members Azaria and Natayne sharing their immense talent with attendees.

At one point in the evening, attendees belted out a few of their favourite Boyz II on Bissoon’s leading. Through a video presentation, the group expressed gratitude for the island’s long-standing support of their music.
Live and Direc directors encouraged everyone to come out and experience this once-in-a-lifetime event, Boyz II Men’s second performance on the island.
Bissoon took the audience through what they could expect at the Boyz II Men concert, and where they could get tickets—Caribtix, Fontana Pharmacy outlets islandwide, Kingston Jerk, and Pegasus Hotel with prices starting at US$100.

A mini Q&A session was held, where Chin shared her excitement about performing alongside Boyz II Men, stating that it was important for local talent to perform with international acts.
As anticipation builds for the October 26 concert, fans can expect an unforgettable evening of soulful melodies and powerhouse performances from both Boyz II Men and Tessanne Chin. Boyz II Men continues to prove why they remain one of the best-selling R&B acts of all time, and with a concert launch as exciting as this one, October 26 will be a night to remember.
