Broad Group, a Chinese multinational corporation founded by Zhang Yue in 1988, has become a global competitor in sustainable construction, air purification, and energy-efficient solutions.
The company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is evident in its various initiatives and technologies.

Broad has introduced several groundbreaking innovations in the construction industry. One of these is the “B-Core” system, a prefabrication method that involves building entire structures in a factory and then assembling them on-site.
The B-Core system reduces construction waste and time while increasing energy efficiency and structural strength. Broad Group used the B-Core system to build a 30-story hotel in China in just 15 days, and it has been used in various other projects worldwide.
The “B-One” system is a self-contained skyscraper that can be built in just a few months. The B-One system includes everything from elevators and mechanical systems to walls and insulation, all manufactured off-site and assembled on-site.
Broad Group has used this system in several Chinese cities, including Changsha and Xiangyang. To meet the need of factory production, the sizes and parts such as the staircase and fire passage, exterior wall, window, and column fire protection layer just to name a few, are unchangeable, however, doors, exterior wall colours and stacking capabilities due to land size can be achieved.
Broad Group’s commitment to sustainability is also evident in its “Green City” initiative, which aims to create a carbon-neutral city powered entirely by renewable energy sources. The company’s headquarters in Changsha serves as a model for this initiative, with its solar panels, geothermal systems, and air filtration technologies.
The company has a significant global presence, with operations in several countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe to name a few. They have completed projects in over 80 countries, and its products and services have been used in United Nations building in Nairobi, Kenya.
Broad Group has established partnerships and collaborations with several organizations, including the United Nations Development and Environment Programme. These partnerships have helped Broad Group to expand its global reach and impact, particularly in the areas of sustainable development and environmental protection.
During a visit with Broad Group in Changsha, China, the team stated that The University of The West Indies is their customer and noted in documentation that Jamaica is a part of their global market reach. They also have customers throughout the Caribbean included Trinidad and Tobago. The group noted that they will continue their efforts in collaborating more of their technologies within the Caribbean.

Broad has made significant strides in air purification technology. Its air-purifying products range from portable air purifiers to large-scale commercial systems. The flagship product, the “BROAD AirPro” series, is a compact and portable air purifier that can remove up to 99.9% of indoor air pollutants. The AirPro uses a two-stage filtration system, which includes an activated carbon filter and an H13-grade HEPA filter.

The air purification technology, used in larger-scale systems, such as the “BROAD Air Solution” series, designed for use in commercial and industrial settings, including factories, shopping malls, and airports. The Air Solution series uses a three-stage filtration system, which includes an activated carbon filter, a H13-grade HEPA filter, and an adsorption filter. The adsorption filter is particularly effective at removing odours, smoke, and harmful gases. One of the unique features of Broad Group’s air purifying technology is the use of “solar-driven regeneration” to clean the adsorption filter. They have developed energy-efficient solutions, such as the “Broad Sustainable Air Conditioning” (BSAC) technology. The BSAC technology uses adsorption refrigeration, which is more energy-efficient than traditional compressor-based systems. It has been used in several buildings worldwide, including a 300,000 square meter shopping mall in Mongolia and its “BROAD Power Storage” series uses a lithium-ion battery system to store energy, making it an ideal solution for off-grid and emergency power situations.
With a focus on giving back to society, the company has established the “Broad Foundation” to support charitable causes, including disaster relief efforts and education initiatives. The foundation has donated millions of dollars to various causes and organizations, including the Red Cross and UNICEF.
They have received recognition for its air purification technology, including the “China Air Purification Industry Pioneer Award” and the “National Quality Award for Air Purifiers.” The company’s sustainable construction innovations have earned them the “Best Practice Award” from the United Nations Environment Programme.
Broad Group’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and corporate social responsibility has made them a competitor in several industries. Their groundbreaking technologies and initiatives have the potential to significantly impact the environment, public health, and global development. As the world faces increasing climate change and sustainability challenges, Broad Group is committed to finding solutions and creating a more sustainable future.
