
Business stalwart and son of Jamaica, Adrian B Foreman (A.B.), passed peacefully in hospital on December 7, 2025.
A.B. came from humble beginnings in Christiana, Manchester and was in the life insurance business from 1957 to 1996.
He, along with R Danny Williams and three other members, founded Life of Jamaica (LOJ) in 1970. At LOJ (now Sagicor Group), he held the positions of Vice President, Executive Vice President and then became President in 1977.
He remained as a key member of the board until 1996. He was a director of The Jamaica Citizens Bank and of many other private companies.
At various times, he held the following positions:
- President
- Life Underwriters Association of Jamaica
- Life Insurance Companies Association of Jamaica
- Chairman: The Rotary Club of Kingston—Downtown (Charter President); The Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (now TVJ); The Ariguinabo Company of Jamaica Ltd. (Govt. owned textile mill)
In 1986, he became Chief Executive Officer of A.B. Holdings Limited and established this company as a vehicle for several other investments:
- Mother’s Enterprises Limited (fast food restaurants and bakeries)
- Rozanne Limited (retail fabric stores)
- General Tool and Supply Company Limited (catering to the furniture trade)
- Antillean Import-Export Company Limited (sporting goods)
- Eurostyle Limited (European bath and kitchen fixtures)
- Dolphin Cove Limited (marine tourism attraction).
Foreman has highly developed entrepreneurial skills and is held in high esteem in the business and social community in Jamaica. He is survived by his ex-wife, four children, six grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
