

Two people are now in custody following a joint law enforcement operation, involving US Federal Agents and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) officers, which resulted in the recovery of a “significant amount” of a substance resembling cocaine.
The police said, in a statement issued on Tuesday (May 9), both agencies provided air and maritime access during the operation which yielded a large quantity of cocaine.
The operation, which took place at sea, resulted in a boat chase that ended on Long Bay, Beef Island, in the British Virgin Island (BVI) on Tuesday morning.
Several packages of cocaine, as well as a speed boat, was recovered during the operation.
Police have not released the identities of the persons in custody.
