Canada-based minerals exploration company C3 Metals has discovered high-grade copper and silver prospects at its Arthurs Seat project in Jamaica.
The junior minerals exploration company has announced that surface reconnaissance results from mapping and sampling at its Arthurs Seat project in Jamaica have unearthed assays of up to 13.8 per cent copper and 492 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, with 11 rock samples assaying greater than four per cent copper.
Arthurs Seat is one of four Jamaican projects owned 100 pe cent by C3 Metals and is located adjacent to its Bellas Gate property, where the company has begun a 5,000-metre drill programme.

Our Today reported two weeks ago that C3 Metals will start drilling for gold and copper in Jamaica at its wholly owned, Bellas Gate copper-gold porphyry project in St Catherine.
Drilling is designed to test multiple porphyry copper targets identified within the regionally significant Crawl River Fault zone.
Copper and silver discovery
Commenting on the copper and silver discovery, C3 Metals CEO Kevin Tomlinson said: “The discovery of widespread copper mineralisation, including some exceptional high-grade samples at Arthurs Seat, is a testament to the prospectivity of our Jamaica tenement package.”

C3 Metals reports that the multiple zones of primary and secondary copper mineralisation at Arthurs Seat highlight significant potential for a high-grade, intermediate high-sulphidation epithermal copper deposit.
Tomlinson pointed out that, “additional to our drill programme in progress at Jasperoide in Peru, we have commenced drilling the highly compelling Epidote Ridge copper-gold porphyry target within the Bellas Gate SEPL, Jamaica.”

C3 Metals said exploration to date at Arthurs Seat has defined a 6.8 square kilometre prospective area of copper mineralised veins and breccias interpreted to represent the upper part of an underlying porphyry system.
The company added that magnetics, mapping and detailed prospecting are continuing.
C3 Metals is also developing its flagship Jasperoide project, a high-grade copper-gold skarn and porphyry system in Peru. Drilling began in February 2021, returning high-grade copper-gold mineralisation over significant thicknesses.
The ongoing programme has been expanded to test multiple geophysical targets.
