Passionate Burger King Jamaica fans have an opportunity to be rewarded for putting their special spin on Burger King’s famous ‘Whopper’ through the current ‘Best tasting Burger Your Way Competition’.
“The DNA of the Burger King brand is ‘Your Way’, which allows our customers to add or remove anything that they want to their order. Some even transform their Whopper at home with their own tasty additions. This sandwich recipe competition shows our commitment to the authenticity and creativity of Jamaican culture and cuisine and to our local tagline ‘Taste Rules Your Way’,” said Sabrena McDonald Radcliffe, sales and marketing manager of Restaurant Associates Limited (RAL).
She noted that, “while The Whopper is a winner all over the world and one cannot improve perfection, we are confident that a Jamaican twist would make for an appealing option.”
Indeed, they are so confident that there are plans to add the winning creation to their franchisees menus as a limited-edition Whopper.
The top 5 finalists will each win their share of over $ 1million in cash and prizes and will get to showcase their creative skills in the TV finals which will air on TVJ. To enter, each Whopper lover must submit a two-minute video of them “making their masterpiece” via whopperyourway.com by April 19. Votes will select the top 10, then judges will select the top 5.

The finale will be a cook-off between the top 5 finalists. The overall winner will walk away with $300,000 in cash, $50,000 in meal vouchers, winner’s trophy and the bragging rights of having their remixed Whopper concept featured on the BK Jamaica menu in the near future.
Pointing to the Whopper’s “unique characteristics”, McDonald Radcliffe said “the flame-broiled Whopper is popular as a substantial, very satisfying burger full of fresh vegetables – a truly tasty meal. It is already well differentiated from its competitors and this Best Tasting Burger Your Way competition demonstrates our company’s flexibility in terms of product offerings. We can’t wait to see what emerges as the Jamaican version of the Whopper”.
