American football quarterback Cam Newton might have just put his foot in his mouth in a most egregious way.

Newton, the free agent, former NFL most valuable player, in an appearance on Barstool Sports’ Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast this week, declared that he believes women should cater to a man’s needs and that his ideal partner should know how to cook and when to be quiet.

Yup, that’s what he said.

The former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots player was talking about his experience being raised by his mother, father and grandmother.

A WOMAN SHOULD CATER TO A MAN’S NEEDS

Saying that experience taught him the difference between a ‘woman’ and a ‘bad b%$tch’ he said the latter was not something members of the so-called fairer sex should want to be.

“A woman for me is handling your own, but knowing how to cater to a man’s needs,” Newton said. “I think a lot of times, when you get that aesthetic of like, ‘I’m a boss b%tch, I’m a this, I’m a that,’ — no, baby. But you can’t cook.

“You don’t know when to be quiet. You don’t know how to allow a man to lead.”

MEN SHOULD START BEING MEN

While the comments were destined to be met with harsh rebukes on social media, Newton did try to stave off the criticism he certainly knew were about to come, saying he was not trying to “beat up my queens” but that men should “start being men”.

While Newton received a great of criticism for the comments, there were, however, several persons on Twitter who agreed with his stance.

At the same time, others argued that the comments should be listened to in the context of the full interview, during which he was critical of men as well.
