Campari Group, through its local subsidiary J Wray & Nephew (JWN) Limited, will partner with the Jamaican government and key disaster relief organisations to actively provide support towards recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.
A total of US$1.56 million is to be donated to the Jamaican government for the hurricane relief fund and Non-Governmental Organisation to support the recovery efforts.
The company is committed to doing its part to help rebuild and recover alongside the affected communities, demonstrating a deep local connection and long-standing history of responding to major disasters in Jamaica.

Daniel Caron, Managing Director of J Wray & Nephew Limited, said Hurricane Melissa has left immense devastation in its wake, and the situation is beyond catastrophic. “People have lost their lives, homes have been destroyed, and critical infrastructure has been damaged,” Caron said.
“Now it is time to respond and ensure that those most affected have what they need to start rebuilding their lives, while also making sure communities are better prepared for future storms. We will be here for the long road ahead, supporting life-saving assistance while laying the groundwork for long-term recovery,” he added.

This donation is part of the company’s ongoing dedication to the Jamaican community. JWN’s immediate priority has been the safety and well-being of its employees and the communities it serves, mobilising resources to support recovery efforts just two days after the passage of the hurricane.
J Wray & Nephew’s primary areas of operation in Jamaica include Kingston, St. Elizabeth, where it owns the Appleton Estate, and Clarendon, where the New Yarmouth Distillery is located. These operations cover everything from rum distillation, ageing, blending, bottling, and the marketing and distribution of a wide range of spirits and beverages.
