Campion College has managed to narrowly defeat Immaculate Conception High School to secure this year’s number one spot on the Educate Jamaica high school performance index.

The co-educational institution achieved a perfect score of 100 per cent of all students passing five or more subjects, including Mathematics and English at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC)) level. This is 2.6 per cent increase when compared to last year’s ranking.

Immaculate Conception High School, last year’s top performer, managed to secure a score of 99.18 per cent, followed by St Andrew High School For Girls (93 per cent), Ardenne High School (91 per cent) and Wolmer’s Boys School (90 per cent).

The index was published by the non-profit organisation on Wednesday (July 24).

According to Educate Jamaica, each school was measured using the percentage of their total grade 11 cohort that achieved 8 or more subjects at CSEC. All subjects sat before grade 11 (seven, eight, nine, and 10) were taken into account.
