The minds behind Campus Elite believe strongly that the university experience in Jamaica should be more than just classes and exams.
Campus Elite is a networking company that connects students with companies and like-minded schoolmates to foster relationships that will likely become vital to their foundation as they enter the workforce.
Started by a team led by founder and CEO Sandre Malcolm, Campus Elite began as an event staffing company for the ‘Frenchmen Party’ in 2018. The company then transitioned to its student development network which connected students with jobs and job experience opportunities through its Campus Elite app.
Campus Elite operates in a three-pronged approach towards student development. Through their social networking app, they can build connections among their peers across different universities, connect and build relationships with brands and businesses, and can connect students with events through their newly added entertainment package.
Malcolm explained the app promotes a culture of free thought and intellectual discourse and provides resources to help students succeed. It also connects them with various job opportunities, giveaways and an avenue to purchase tickets to major events.
The app is live and ranked the #2 education app on the app store.
Sammar Reid, general manager at Campus Elite, shared with Our Today the company’s vision is to enable students to get the most out of their university experience and feel empowered to discover their passions.
“University is just as much about your experiences as it is the people you meet and the classes you attend,” Reid explained as he revealed the rationale behind Campus Elite’s upcoming D’After Mas party.
Campus Elite has partnered with the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona Guild, the overseeing body for UWI Carnival to bring to the Jamaican populace D’After Mas, the new, post-COVID edition, of the UWI Carnival after-party.
Seasoned UWI Carnival revellers will know that after the event on Ring Road, there is usually an after-party celebration that takes place on the Mona campus where participants can continue the festivities.
Campus Elite has embarked on a mission to bring back the event with added features to create a safer and premium event.
