The St Ann police charged 48-year-old Canadian mechanic Sebastian Beurgeois of Greenwich Estate, Drax Hall, St Ann with Fraudulent Conversion in relation to a series of incidents at a business establishment in Drax Hall between July 7 and August 8.

Reports from the St Ann’s Bay Police are that at about 10:30 am on Monday, July 7, a man took his Audi Q5 SUV to the establishment for repairs.

The vehicle owner returned in August and realised that a pretensioner valued at 328,000 JMD and an ambient light valued at 63,000 JMD were missing.

Beurgeois could not account for the missing items, so a report was made to the police.

During the investigation, he was taken into custody and subsequently charged. He is scheduled to appear before the St Ann Parish Court on Thursday, December 4.
