Three outstanding Jamaican artistes who have contributed significantly to the development and promotion of the nation’s entertainment industry, in decades gone by, were awarded with national honours by the Government of Jamaica at the 63rd staging of Grand Gala on Independence Day, celebrated on Wednesday, August 6.
They are: Leroy Sibbles, Capleton and Beres Hammond.
Given the intensity of the show, each awardee was given a brief moment to drop their words of appreciation, followed by performances of some of their hit singles.
Clifton George Bailey III, better known by his stage name Capleton, is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall musician.
