Carib Cement has resumed cement dispatch operations at its Rockfort plant following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

Having completed checks to verify the well-being of its employees and contractors, the company undertook thorough safety inspections and restoration activities to ensure that all areas of the plant were secure and structurally sound before resuming any operations.

Given strong inventory levels and fully stocked packing warehouses, Carib Cement shared that it “can meet market demand without any supply chain disruptions”. At present the manufacturer also holds over 33,000 tonnes of clinker, which can produce 44,000 tonnes of cement.

Managing Director Jorge Martinez has commended the Carib Cement team’s swift and effective recovery.

“Our ability to resume the dispatch of cement so quickly after Hurricane Melissa is a testament to the strength of our safety protocols, the resilience of our operations, and the dedication of our people. By ensuring all silos and warehouses were secure and fully stocked, we are well positioned to meet Jamaica’s construction needs without interruption,” he said,
