Carreras Limited, distributors of the Vuse Go and Vuse Max e-cigarettes in Jamaica, launched an inventive take-back programme on Tuesday (May 28), to encourage responsible disposal of vapes.

The Vuse take-back programme is an initiative to collect used Vuse disposable vaping devices and pods for proper disposal or recycling to reduce the environmental impact. Many vaping devices contain batteries and other components that can be hazardous if not disposed of properly.

The tobacco distributor has partnered with INET Jamaica Limited to facilitate the recycling process locally.

Speaking with Our Today at the Vuse Take-Back programme launch event in Kingston, Carreras Limited managing director Franklin Murillo said, ” Another thing we’re doing throughout this programme is ensuring that our devices do not go into the hands of minors. Vapes are something for adults who can responsibly make the decision for themselves to vape.”

As part of the programme customers who deposit three empty devices at any of the 15 Vuse disposable bins at gas stations across the country will receive a free Vuse Go e-cigarette. (Conditions Apply).
