The case against the dancehall artiste Kiprich, whose given name is Marlon Plunkett, was postponed on Tuesday in the St Catherine Parish Court until September 19 because the case file is incomplete.
Kiprich was charged on Monday, February 10, following the creation of a dubplate promoting criminal activity.
The artiste was charged under section 18A of the Offences Against the Person Act for the alleged ‘use of audio, visual, or audiovisual communication to promote criminal activity.
He reportedly recorded a One Order dubplate, which his management team said was ‘spliced and changed’ to portray another message than was originally intended.
The deejay produced the custom-order dubplate for a foreign selector in light of the death of reputable One Order Gang leader Othneil ‘Thickman’ Lobban, who was killed during a shootout with the police at 6 miles in St Andrew on January 22.
The 45-year-old is currently out on station bail.
