Patricia Reid-Waugh, board director of the Caribbean Community of Retired Persons (CCRP), participated in an online seminar hosted by the Ministry of Tourism for its staff on January 26.
The seminar theme was ‘A Holistic Approach to Retirement Planning’.
A popular author, poet and retirement coach, Reid-Waugh said she decided to incorporate the CCRP slogan ‘Life to the Fullest’ in her presentation, entitled ‘Planning for Life to the Fullest in Retirement’.
“I congratulate the Ministry of Tourism for its vision in offering this two-day seminar to its staff, which will be very useful in helping them to prepare for retirement, whatever their ages. It is never too early to begin planning.”

“My message was that those plans must focus on three important concerns: financial, physical, and psychological wellness in retirement,” said Reid-Waugh.
“These are the areas that are critical for experiencing a happier and healthier retirement.

Reid-Waugh’s book, Retirement, a New Adventure is a favourite of CCRP members.
Recently she published Retirement: The Journey and The Destination, a planning guide to ensure the seamless process of planning for retirement.
A retiree herself, she has pivoted and used the digital space to start her “second career” as a writer and coach.
