The ballroom of the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston was full to capacity as dignitaries came to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The event was hosted by His Excellency Chen Daojiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Jamaica and his team at the Embassy. In his address, he spoke about the long-abiding friendship between Jamaica and China and the contributions made by Chinese people who settled here in Jamaica.

Ambassador Chen drew attention to China’s investing over US$2 billion into Jamaica over recent years.

Our Today was at the event and brings you these photos.
