Labour Minister Pearnel Charles Jr says no Jamaican farmworker on the Overseas Employment Programme was involved in a bus accident in Florida on Tuesday (May 14).

Eight people and 40 others were reportedly hospitalised after the bus carrying the farmworkers collided in a pickup truck and overturned in northcentral Florida.

The fatal accident reportedly occurred around 6:35 am on a rural road about 80 miles north of Orlando.

“We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the farmworkers whose lives were lost in this unfortunate accident,” Charles Jr said.
