Charlie ‘Uncle Charlie’ Wilson is among the headliners for Groovin In The Park, which takes place June 25 at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, New York.
Wilson is a former member of the Mad House Records group, inclusive of Wayne Wonder, Cham and Frisco Kid, Tarrus Riley, Minister Marion Hall, and British sound system legend, David Rodigan.
The annual event was on a three-year hiatus, but is back in full force, ready to send musical vibrations throughout New York.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of ‘Groovin’, which was first held in 2011.
Each year, the event attracts more than 25,000 fans, mainly members of the Jamaican diaspora and Caribbean who reside in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, Philadelphia, and Toronto, Canada.
The show’s return is said to be highly anticipated by supporters who are anxious to rock and groove to musical hits in reggae and dancehall.
The 2023 Groovin In The Park also comprises a Four Continent Sound System Showcase featuring Dynamq from Africa and Bass Odyssey, who will represent South and North America.
