Fathers took centre stage at Bonding Over Brew, NCB Jamaica’s pre-Father’s Day celebration held at Clubhouse Brewery, where heartwarming moments flowed freely as craft beer.
Designed to honour fathers as lifelong teachers, protectors, and financial role models, the event brought dads and their children together in an atmosphere of laughter, gratitude and meaningful connection.
“This gathering is a tribute to the fathers who lead by example,” said Perrin Gayle, executive vice president of retail banking at NCB. “It’s about recognising the fathers who show up every day to provide, protect, and empower. When fathers are engaged, children are more confident, families are more stable, and communities grow stronger.”
Hosted by the charismatic Ian ‘Itty’ Ellis, the evening was a vibrant mix of rhythm and reflection.
Light-hearted games and great music created the perfect backdrop for bonding. Guests were also treated to a guided tasting and behind-the-scenes tour of Jamaica’s first craft brewery, led by Clubhouse Brewery CEO Cedric Blair. Each father left with a custom-branded growler – a tangible memento of an evening to remember.
A tribute poured straight from the heart
In a surprise that left few dry-eyed, children of the attending dads appeared in a video tribute. Sharing heartfelt memories, expressions of love and gratitude for the everyday lessons their fathers had pass down.
“It feels good to be seen,” said Canute Sadler, CEO of Stanmark Processors Company Limited. “My five children are my greatest wealth. They’re all wonderful human beings, and as a father, it’s my mission to nurture their minds and live in a way that sets a strong example.”
The evening culminated with a powerful toast to fathers as financial stewards, character builders, and sources of steady wisdom. “Today is about paying tribute to the quiet guidance and enduring strength of fatherhood and the powerful role you play in shaping the next generation,” said Angus Young, CEO of NCB Capital Markets Limited. “At NCB, we see fathers as essential partners in building a legacy of prosperity, purpose, and possibility for your families.”
Bonding Over Brew forms part of NCB’s broader Father’s Day campaign, a month-long series of reflections and events that honour the profound and lasting bond between fathers and their children.
