Fresh off a thrilling victory in the Romanian capital Bucharest, Fabiano Caravan, reigning Grand Chess Tour Champion, will be visiting Jamaica on July 24 and 25 to meet with the local chess community.
He will partake in an exhibition against Jamaica’s most talented players and also give advice on the country’s male and female Olympic team members who are preparing for the Budapest Olympiad in October.
Carvana will be very much a part of the GM 10 programme with Grandmaster Maurice Ashley, who was born in Jamaica.
The GM in 10 Programme is an initiative first announced by Finance Minister Nigel Clarke last year.
The aim is to identify, support and train the most talented class players in Jamaica.
