Chinese Embassy makes multi-billion-dollar donation to help with Jamaica’s border security

The Chinese Embassy to Jamaica has made a significant donation of J$2.4 billion worth of equipment including multifunctional printers, computers, laptops, video conferencing systems and airport CT security scanners to help with border security and the social development of the people of Jamaica.

This generous  donation comes on the 51st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and Jamaica.

Ambassador Chen Daojiang at the official presentation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (November 21) made the donation to Jamaican Minister of Foreign Affairs Senator Kamina Johnson Smith.

She expressed her appreciation to the Chinese Government for this generous donation, aid with expertise and technology as well as assistance provided in infrastructure development in more recent years.
