The Universe Boss Chris Gayle is celebrating his 42nd birthday today with the release of his latest single Punjabi Daddy.
The celebrated T20 cricketer is currently in India where he is representing the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League and announced the release of his latest song on Instagram and Twitter. The accompanying video is set to be released on Friday.
A ‘sneak peek’ of the video on Gayle’s Instagram page has exceeded 500,000 views. It has approximately 38,000 views on Twitter.
Punjabi Daddy was released on Gayle’s TripleCentury Records and is his latest on a growing list of releases over the past two years.

What, he said, began as a joke has now blossomed into a passion for the T20 legend.
“I did the first song (Too Hot Celebrity) with Stylo-G and it was a joke I was running. I said Stylo-G I should be on that remix and eventually he turned up at my house and said he was ready. So, anyway, we went to the movie theatre room (at his house) and he started to show me the ropes and eventually I delivered the music and it turned out to be a hit.”
Since then, he has recorded We Come Out to Party with Tanto Blacks, Groove with Indian singer Avina and, since the formation of his label earlier this year, released songs like Blessings, Jamaica to India and Train Line.
Gayle will be playing in his third T20 World Cup next month as he was among the 15 players selected by Cricket West Indies to defend the title they won in 2016.
