CIBC Caribbean has celebrated the first official winner in its Sweeten the Season Christmas Promotion 2025, following a festive prize selection event held at the bank’s Head Office in New Kingston.

The Sweeten the Season promotion offered enhanced opportunities for customers to enjoy cashback, reduced fees and the chance to win cash. Individuals who applied for a mortgage, vehicle loan or land loan with CIBC Caribbean during the promotional period were automatically entered for an opportunity to win one of three cash prizes. 

The first winner, Crystal Peterkin, received a cash prize valued at approximately J$567,000 and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the timely reward.

“This could not have come at a better time, especially following Hurricane Melissa and during the holiday season. It is a wonderful and unexpected surprise for my family and me,” she shared.

Kevin Sunarth, District Manager for Non-Corporate Area Branches, Personal and Business Banking, said the promotion reflects the bank’s commitment to client appreciation and meaningful engagement. “Sweeten the Season is an initiative that allowed us to celebrate our customers while supporting their important financial goals—whether purchasing a home, a vehicle, or land. The opportunity to win cash adds even more excitement, and we are pleased to honour our first winner as we continue spreading cheer across Jamaica,” he said.

Cheryl Grierson Bird, Branch Manager, Montego Bay, CIBC Caribbean, noted that the campaign aligned closely with the bank’s mission to empower customers. “This promotion supported customers at every stage of their financial journey. By linking major life decisions—such as property ownership or vehicle upgrades with the chance to win, we delivered added value during the holiday season. The response to the promotion was very encouraging, and we look forward to maintaining this momentum,” she said.

Two other winners are expected to celebrate in the coming weeks, as the final draw for the promotion takes place on January 19th.
