Three charitable organisations were the lucky recipients of cash donations from generous CIBC FirstCaribbean clients who donated points earned from using their credit cards earlier this year.

The Jamaica Environment Trust, Salvation Army and Missionaries of the Poor were the recipients of varying sums from the bank’s credit card rewards programme.

Nigel Holness, managing director of CIBC FirstCaribbean, noted that since 2018 the bank initiated the programme which gives its clients the opportunity to support charitable organisations. Under the programme, Visa Gold and Visa Bizline card customers earn points when they use their cards and may redeem for benefits like cash-back, travel, e-gift vouchers or donations to charity.

The bank has several charities listed as possible options for cardholders to gift their points and Holness lauded his clients for “opting to aid the less fortunate and support the environment this time around”.
