Longstanding broadcaster and boss of Nationwide News Network (NNN) has cut ties with Amber Group founder Dushyant Savadia.

Cliff Hughes founded NNN decades ago, and it has gone on to become a mainstay on the Jamaican media landscape.

It will continue to be controlled and operated by Cliff Hughes.

The news platform Revo was launched by Savadia with the aim of revolutionising Jamaican media using AI. However, Revo was folded after less than a year.

NNN and the Amber Group have gone their separate ways, and Cliff Hughes is clarifying that Savadia is not a majority shareholder of his media company but rather holds a 15 per cent stake.

All major decisions and the editorial direction is set by its lead principal, Cliff Hughes.

As it pertains to the controversy surrounding the Support Jamaica website and contributions made through it, Cliff Hughes and NNN had no part in it. The design and development of the website where people would send donations to help the Hurricane Melissa relief efforts was designed and developed by Savadia’s team.

Huhges is making it clear that he is not an ally of Dushyant Savadia and that his business interests are not inextricably linked to Savadia’s enterprises.
