Varying degrees of cloud cover dominate weather conditions today (January 19), as the Jamaica Meteorological Service notes the presence of a weakening trough.
The Met Service, in its 5:00 am forecast, indicated that on scattering, a high-pressure ridge will replace the localised trough, inducing higher temperatures island-wide by Sunday.
Further afield, a stationary front across the northwestern Bahamas continues to dissipate.
Partly cloudy conditions are expected this morning, with isolated showers likely for eastern parishes. Skies remain partly cloudy well into the afternoon, as isolated showers bear down on western parishes and hilly areas.
The respective maximum temperature expected for major cities Kingston and Montego Bay is 31 and 30 degrees Celsius.
