Minister Marion Hall on Saturday (September 4) shared that her father had died.

In a post on her Instagram feed, Hall, formerly known as Lady Saw, shared that her father had passed away just shortly after she had a phone conversation with him.

While clearly sadden by her father’s passing Hall shared that she was content knowing that he had been baptized prior to his passing.

In some Christian denominations, it is believed that those who have been baptized prior to their passing have the opportunity to be with the Lord in heaven, following judgment.

“My dad passed away today , right after I spoke to him via FaceTime. His nurse said he smiles at the end of our conversation. Just two days ago, I arranged with my driver in Jamaica to take my sister and his grandchildren and great grandchildren to go visit him for a few days, since three of them will be migrating to America in a few days,” said Hall on Instagram.

“My soul is at peace knowing that I was obedient to the Holy Spirit ,when he instructed me on what needed to be done days ago. Before I came up to America, I had gotten him baptized in the name of Jesus for the cleansing of his sins, and prayed that God now received his spirit until we meet again,” she added.

Support pours in from music fraternity

Following news of Hall’s father passing, several in the reggae and dancehall community have sent words of support and condolences to the minister and her family.

Among those to share condolences for the family included singers Alaine, Tessanne Chin and Kevin Downswell.

In addition, dancehall selector Foota Hype also used the occasion to share his condolences.
