The High Command of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is advising the public that a member of the force has been taken into custody following a targeted, intelligence-driven operation conducted earlier today in Florence Hill, St Andrew.

It is reported that the constable, whose identity and particulars have been confirmed, was arrested after two prohibited firearms were seized during a coordinated raid on a premises. The operation, which forms part of a wider investigation into illicit firearms trafficking, was triggered by credible intelligence suggesting that the member was involved in the illegal vending of firearms.

This arrest represents a significant development in the JCF’s ongoing offensive against the illegal gun trade and is an effort that remains one of their highest strategic priorities in the fight against crime and violence in Jamaica.

“Members of the JCF are entrusted with extraordinary powers and public confidence. Any breach of that trust, especially involving criminal conduct, will be met with swift and uncompromising consequences. There is no place in this organisation for individuals who seek to use their position to subvert the law,” the JCF said.

The High Command reaffirms its commitment to rooting out all forms of corruption and criminality, regardless of rank or affiliation. “The JCF will continue to leverage intelligence, operational coordination, and investigative excellence to dismantle criminal networks, wherever they may exist,” the JCF added.

The operations are ongoing, and further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
