There is a continuous surge in tourism in the Dominican Republic, which is topping pre-pandemic tourism arrival numbers.
This is indicative of the strong rebound taking place in tourism in the Caribbean tourist destination.
The destination has already exceeded 390,000 tourists in February, a 210 per cent jump over the same month in 2021 and one per cent more than the same month in 2019.
Tourism Minister David Collado explained, “the recovery of tourism is a worldwide success story.”
He mentioned that the Dominican Republic had “intensified” its promotional efforts in a bid to “ensure that more foreign visitors continue to arrive.”
The tourism minister revealed that the Dominican Republic plans to welcome more than 7 million tourists in 2022. In January, the country reported more than 500,000 travellers.
