Corinaldi easily retain INSPORTS/Devon Biscuits Western Championship

Corinaldi Avenue Primary of St James easily retained their INSPORTS/Devon Biscuits Primary School Western Championship at STETHS.

After 40 finals, Corinaldi amassed 274 points and won by 120 points ahead of Barracks Road Primary on 154 with Black River Primary just behind in third spot on 152 points. Howard Cooke Primary with 148.5 points were fourth and Glen Stuart fifth on 147 points.

The top 10 is completed by Wakefield Primary (141), Esher Primary (90.5), Burnt Savannah (66), Christiana Moravian Primary (62) and Holland Primary (47).

There were six individual champions winning two events and garnered 18 points. Kenardo Wedderburn of Flankers Primary, Shaunte Morris (Wakefield), Jamario Webb (New Forrest), Zenneil Gayle (Corinaldi), Lavane Whyte (Holland) and Deborijah Morris (Corinaldi).

Wedderburn won the Boys’ Class One 100m in 12.74 and 200m in 26.00. Zanneil Gayle of Corinaldi captured the Class Two sprint double, winning the 100m in 12.57 and 200m in 26.60.

In Class Three, Jamario Webb won the 100m in 13.88 and the 150 in 20.62 while Roshane Reid of Wakefield captured the boys’ Class Four 60m in 9.22.

Chrisan-Thia Erickson of Howard Cooke broke the Girls’ Class One 100m clocking 13.36 seconds. The previous record was 13.42 held by Chelsea Hutchinson.

Shaunte Morris of Wakefield captured the Girls’ Class Two 100m in 13.99 and Deborijah Morris of Corinaldi took the Class Three in 14.52. Emma Clarke of Barrack Road won the Class Four 60m in 9.53.
