Respected Jamaican business executive Greta Bogues passed away on Sunday (February 21).

While a cause of death was not immediately disclosed, Bogues’ loss has sent shockwaves throughout the private-sector community, many of whom hailed the former J Wray and Nephew exec as a stellar leader and consummate professional.

“The bad news just doesn’t stop. Another Jamaican woman who has contributed so much, now gone,” said Marcia Forbes, founder of Phase Three Productions on Twitter.

Bogues, a leadership consultant and a certified corporate governance trainer, was instrumental in spearheading the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica’s (PSOJ) Corporate Governance Committee.

Under her guidance, the committee trained directors and enhances awareness of the issues and principles of corporate governance best practices within Jamaica.

More details to come in subsequent updates.
