Corporate Movements: Digicel Foundation and Massy announce executive changes

In Corporate Movements this week, Image Plus Consultants Limited has changed its company secretary with Dr. Marian Allison-Vaughan out and is being replaced by Karl Townsend.

The company has disclosed that  Dr. Allison-Vaughan has resigned effective May 31, but will continue to serve as an executive director on the board. 

Image Plus says, “Her resignation as company secretary is due to personal reasons and is not related to any disagreements with the company’s operations, policies, or procedures. We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Allison-Vaughan for her invaluable contributions during her tenure and look forward to her continued involvement in her capacity as an executive director. “

Image Plus is welcoming Townsend as the new company secretary, effective June 1. Townsend, currently an independent board director, has over 30 years of experience in banking, investment banking, corporate finance and capital markets. 

Townsend holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics and management from the University of the West Indies, Mona and a Master’s in business administration-finance (MBA) from the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester.

Wigton board committee appointment

Wigton Windfarm Limited has advised that Allison Philbert was appointed a member of the finance and investment committee of the board, effective May 27.

Massy executive VP retires

Massy Holdings Group is announcing the retirement of Julie Avey, group executive vice president. Her retirement took effect May 31. 

The chairman and the board of directors have thanked her for her years of dedicated service to the group. 

PJX board resignation

Jonathan Murphy resigned from the PJX board of directors and audit committee effective May 22. 

The company is reporting that, “Mr Murphy’s resignation from the audit committee is not related to any disagreement pertaining to any accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure or any other material issue impacting the committee or his ability to properly carry out the functions that were delegated by the board.”

Montego Bay’s Joy Clark has been appointed chairman of the prominent Digicel Foundation, succeeding communication expert Jean Lowrie Chin, who served in the position for nine years.

Clark, a career sales and management professional, who has been with the foundation since its inception in 2004, was appointed at the foundation’s bimonthly board meeting on May 27.

She has served the foundation in many capacities, including vice-chair, and has played a pivotal role in establishing strategic partnerships.
