The Integrity Commission (IC) has ruled that Ralston Wilson, councillor for the Ginger Ridge Division within the constituency of St Catherine West Central, be charged with breaching the Integrity Commission Act.

The ruling follows an IC probe into claims that Smith, who sits in the St Catherine Municipal Corporation, failed without reasonable cause to file statutory declarations with the anti-corruption regulatory body for the years 2019, 2020 and 2022.

He was given an opportunity to discharge his liability by paying a fixed penalty and by submitting the required statutory declarations to the commission. 

According to the IC, “notwithstanding, Mr Wilson’s compliance was partial, particularly, he only provided the required statutory declarations after the due date given, but failed to pay the fixed penalty. Liability cannot, therefore, on this basis, be said to have been discharged.”

The IC had also ruled that Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and Member of Parliament for St Ann South West, Zavia Mayne be charged with Breaches of the IC Act for the offence of failure without reasonable cause to provide information requested by its Director of Information and Complaints.
