Dancehall icon Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer and his co-accused will find out on Wednesday (July 31) whether the Court of Appeal will decide on a retrial or release.

Justice Marva McDonald-Bishop, president of the Court of Appeal, presides over the afternoon ruling which determines the fate of the ‘Fever’ artiste and his co-accused.

Back in mid-March, the London-based Privy Council ‘quashed’ the convictions of the defendants leaving his fate in limbo and the choice of a retrial or release up to Jamaica’s court of appeal.

King Charles III also issued a formal directive on April 10, ordering the Jamaican Government to pay the legal expenses of controversial dancehall artiste Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer.

But should the Court of Appeal decide to order a retrial, Kartel and his co-accused will face a lengthy wait before learning their ultimate fate.

Kartel’s supporters appear to be anxious, awaiting a favourable verdict that could lead to the release of Palmer and his co-accused.
