A payroll fraud scheme, running in the millions of dollars, is reportedly being investigated by the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UWHI).

Reports are that four persons who were arrested for falsely collecting salaries as employees of the hospital appeared in the St.Andrew parish court on Monday (June 19).

The accused have been named as Lionel Sinclair, Doneil Lawrence, Romario Bailey and Selronia Bailey.

They are set to return to court on September 21 to answer to the charges.

The multi-million-dollar fraud scheme was said to have been detected some time last year by internal auditors at the hospital.
