In a December 2016 interview, conscious recording artiste Richard Gordon, aka Inzpiration, said his decision to stick to uplifting and socially conscious music was inspired by God.

At the time, he expressed confidence that the following year (2017) would be a breakout year for him. It didn’t materialize then, but the St Ann-based artiste remained undaunted and kept on writing and singing his cultural songs.

Since the start of this year, it appears the hard work and perseverance are paying off with several breaks for the artiste. He believes his break is finally here!

“Yes, a well-deserved break, although a culture. The culture tek long but it reach,” Inzpiration said of his music classification. “And everything happen inna culture month, February, every opportunity pop up,” he added.

During February, the DJ was interviewed on Germany-based Connection Radio. He was also featured on TVJ’s morning show, Smile Jamaica It’s Morning Time, with Neville and Simone, and was interviewed on Irie FM. Since the start of the year, he has released several self-produced singles and has performed on several stage shows, including sharing stage with Anthony Cruz at a show in St Mary. “Nuff things a gwaan, a lot of stage shows, a lot of dubplates being done, whole heap a work a put een,” he explained.

“We have a link over Switzerland, Sinky Beatz, big up Sinky Beatz, who gave me the approval to use his riddim to record Small Axe. Small Axe, dah song deh a tear up the world. We have a next song called Reincarnation on the Far East riddim, ah tear up the place same way. Mama Yuh Gone, because I lost my mother, so mi have a lot of new releases, released on Youtube so the world can listen.”

Inzpiration is confident that the positive trend will continue, as he seeks further stage performances, locally and abroad. He is grateful for all the support he has had over the years and thanks the media houses that have supported his career so far.

“And I have to big up mi road manager Demi Don, he’s like a pillar of strength. Big up Sequence, the boss same way. He’s my engineer, him produce songs for me too so he’s like a mastermind behind the music,” he said.
