Wendy’s in the United States is offering a week-long deal for customers, including the Jr Bacon Cheeseburger for just a penny, if they buy any item from the menu on National Hamburger Day, Tuesday, May 28, but some customers are sharing their distrust.
The offer will run from May 28 to June 2. However, it will not be available in Jamaican Wendy’s restaurants as it is not an ‘International promotion’.
“Take a bite of a Wendy’s hamburger made with fresh, never frozen beef to celebrate National Hamburger Day the right way,” the company said in a statement reported by USA Today.

Though the promotion is meant to celebrate hamburgers, it appears folks are a little concerned about the quality of the food being sold for 1 cent. On social media, they have shared responses to the promotion, and there has been a flurry of mixed reviews.
“Anything that cost 1 cent should not be ingested” one social media user wrote.
“Burgers probably have the vaccine in it,” another commented.
“1 (sic) cent for a burger during inflation? think about it,” another wrote.
Wendy’s USA offers this deal digitally, exclusively on their app and website, allowing customers to save on their next burger purchase.
