D4vd to face trial in death case involving 14 Year old girl

Singer D4vd is set to stand trial after a judge ruled that prosecutors presented enough evidence to move forward with the case involving the death of 14 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The 21-year-old performer, whose real name is David Burke, is accused of killing Rivas Hernandez after prosecutors alleged that she threatened to reveal their relationship. He has pleaded not guilty to murder, as well as charges including mutilation of human remains and child sexual abuse.
According to prosecutors, Rivas Hernandez’s badly decomposed body was discovered inside a vehicle registered to Burke in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles on September 8, 2025. Burke was arrested several months later in April.
During the hearing, Judge Charlaine Olmedo ruled that the case would proceed to trial after prosecutors presented details of their investigation. Burke’s lawyers argued that there was not enough evidence to support the murder charge.
Prosecutors allege that Rivas Hernandez arrived at Burke’s home on April 23, 2025, after being picked up in an Uber ordered by him. They claim she was killed shortly after arriving at the property.
Authorities also allege that Burke purchased items used to dispose of the body and kept the remains hidden inside a vehicle for months before the car was abandoned and later towed.
Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman said prosecutors have additional evidence that has not yet been presented and confirmed that officials are considering whether to seek the death penalty.
Burke will remain in custody without bail, with his next court appearance scheduled for August 31st . A trial could begin as early as 60 days after that hearing.
