Jamaican dancehall artiste Mavado is ‘clapping back’ at Prime Minister Andrew Holness after statements the latter made in Parliament on Tuesday (March 30) that cited violent dancehall music as a contributing factor to the nation’s crime rate.
Mavado, the Gully God, who himself has numerous violence-laced songs as well as a son currently facing life imprisonment for a murder conviction, was the first on the scene to defend the position of dancehall entertainers in light of the accusations made by the prime minister.
Taking to Instagram, the Not Perfect singer said, “Why is this man blaming crime on music, every prime minister that the ppl vote in when dem get them B*%$$t seat to work Dem fail and come point fingers well we pointing right back at you”.
MAVADO ‘TYAD’ OF HOLNESS
Mavado went on to ask the PM “what about all the grants dat you and your parliamentarians get to take care of crime billions.. that has nothing to do with entertainment”.
The Clean singer also sought to remind Holness that “no one voted for us to lead that’s your job! what u need to do is clean up your corrupted Goverment and stop intimidate the people! Tyad a you. @andrewholnessjm”.
