Starting the year off with a bang, communicator extraordinaire and CEO of Broadtail Designs, Dania Beckford has introduced to the market a new product under the Broadtail Brand, guaranteed to provide women with a tangible confidence booster.

Being Broadtail Affirmation Cards is the latest addition to the Broadtail Brand, launched on February 1 and featuring a deck of 23 conviction-evoking statement cards.

Speaking with Our Today on Tuesday (February 15), Beckford contextualised the inspiration behind her latest product launch, aimed at boosting women’s confidence.

“The essence of the Broadtail Brand is confidence and empowering women,” stated Beckford.

“We started out producing swimsuits, resort wear and carnival costumes for full-figured women and in March 2021 we expanded the brand and started the Being Broadtail Podcast/YouTube Series where we have conversations with women on different parts of their confidence journey in an effort to encourage other women.”

With this in mind, the confidence advocate relayed: “Affirmations are a big part of how I stay confident, so I wrote down some of my favourite ones for myself and decided that I would package them and share them with my broadtails.”

As the affirmation cards have helped her, Beckford hopes they will also assist other women in getting the additional confidence boost they may need to get through challenging times.

As it relates to what she hopes to achieve from the sale of the affirmation cards, the Broadtail CEO shared that the continued expansion of the Broadtail Brand into varying products and services as well as the ability to perform meaningful work with young girls in Jamaica’s women’s centres remains a top priority.

Now in its second week since the product’s launch, Beckord shared: “The reception has been overwhelmingly good.

“Women have been thanking me for sharing a tool in my confidence toolkit and even men have been gifting them to their female loved ones.”

Though traditionally a brand with a keen focus on women empowerment, the fashion designer expressed that exploring ways to boost the confidence of men was not an idea to which she is opposed.

She informed: “The Broadtail Brand does focus on women but I am the mother to a young son and I want him to grow up to be a confident, caring young man who treats women well.”

In light of this, “I would partner with other brands to assist men as well who may need a confidence boost,” said Beckford.
