Danielle Archer resigns as principal director of National Integrity Action

Danielle Archer, the Principal Director of National Integrity Action (NIA), one of Jamaica’s foremost anti-corruption bodies, has resigned from her position.
The organisation announced on Monday that her resignation will take effect on December 31.
Archer, who replaced NIA founder Professor Trevor Munroe in May 2023, has been a prominent and vocal critic of the nation’s governance framework. Her outspokenness often drew sharp criticism from members of Jamaica’s political directorate during her tenure.
In a statement confirming her departure, NIA lauded Archer’s contributions. The organisation, which serves as the local chapter of Transparency International, credited her with providing “visionary leadership, strategic clarity, and an unwavering commitment to integrity in public life”.
Archer’s resignation marks a significant change for the watchdog group, leaving a leadership vacuum at a critical time.
The search for her successor will be closely watched by civil society and the public as NIA continues its mission to promote transparency and combat corruption in Jamaica.
