
Reggae Girl Davia Richards banged in five goals as Frazsiers Whips proved too hot for Proven Girls, winning 9-0 at Excelsior High School on Saturday.
Richards netted in the 4th, 26th, 61st, 83rd and 90+4 minutes, taking her tally to 24 and maintaining her position atop the Golden Boots race.
Destiny Powell grabbed a brace in the 37th and 48th minutes while Shaniel Buckley (20th) and Nevillegail Able (21st) completed the rout.
Frazsiers Whip with the 12th consecutive win, maintained their seven-point lead atop the standings with 36 points and a league-high 69 goals scored while conceding only six goals.
Proven Girls, which was suffering their seventh game of the season, are in eighth spot on nine points, the same as ninth-placed Real Mobay, which clipped UWI Women’s 1-0 at Granville Community Centre. Daniel Beckford scored the all-important goal in the 57th minute that gave Real Mobay their first of the season. UWI remained in sixth spot on 13 points.
Cavalier’s women, riding on the high of their men’s team that won the Jamaica Premier League, defeated Mile Gully 2-0 at Alpha Boys Home to be in second spot on 29 points. Deshanna Cole opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Shanel Spence sealed the victory in minute 54. It was Spence’s 20th goal of the season. Mile Gully, which was suffering their fifth defeat from 11 games, are seventh on 12 points with a game in hand.
Meanwhile, in-form Los Perfectos of Mandeville blanked Wifi United 2-0 at Carder Park in Portland. In-form strikers Venicia Reid and Sashana Campbell scored in the 19th and 54th minutes as Los Perfectos stayed in third spot on 27 points. Newcomers Wifi, which was suffering their fifth defeat of the season, stayed in fifth spot on 15 points.
Over at the Spanish Town Prison Oval, Federal United whipped Springer FC 3-1 in the bottom-of-the-table clash. Adriana Hall netted a brace, scoring in the 51st and 65th minutes. Yasheka Lewis was also on the scoresheet in the 55th minute as Federal leapfrogged Springers into 10th spot on six points.
Fredricka Finikin had given Springers the lead in the 32nd minute, but they crashed to their ninth defeat from 11 games to be bottom in 11th spot on three points.
