Manchester United and England legend David Beckham had plenty to smile about on Tuesday as he was knighted by King Charles at Windsor Castle.
The soccer legend, now Sir David Beckham, received the honour for his impact on sports and years of charitable work. The 50-year-old took a knee before the King, then posed proudly with his medal alongside his wife, Victoria.
Beckham’s career is the stuff of legend, from captaining England’s national team to shining for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and LA Galaxy.
Beyond the field, he’s spent years using his fame to support a wide range of causes and help others.
Now, the global icon joins a select group of sports stars, including Lewis Hamilton and Andy Murray, who have also received knighthoods.
