Blue Mahoe Holdings founder and CEO David Mullings donated unrestricted shares in Blue Mahoe Capital Inc from his personal shares via the Mullings Family Foundation worth US$100,000 to Kingston Creative on Wednesday (July 24).
Blue Mahoe Capital Inc currently has a live SEC-qualified offering in the US raising capital at US$10 per share from the general public.
He made the announcement at the launch of the second phase of Kingston Creative’s Downtown Transformation Project, which will include an Adopt-a-Block initiative to further the ongoing revitalisation of downtown Kingston.
Mullings says he is contributing because he genuinely believes in supporting Jamaican culture and agrees with the sentiment, that “culture is the gateway to capital”, a lesson taken from billionaire American businessman and former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg.
He added that he wants the diaspora to remember the words of his shareholder Steve Wilson, “Jamaica’s greatest export is its culture.”

Mullings also highlighted the importance of the diaspora’s role in supporting Jamaican culture.
“Blue Mahoe Capital is setting an example for the diaspora to invest in our culture, and Kingston Creative is the single best option for the support of that culture,” he added.
Mullings’ Blue Mahoe Capital has previously donated J$1 million as well as camera equipment and video editing services through its subsidiary Reel Vibez.
Kingston Creative Executive Director Andrea Dempster Chung has expressed her elation with Mullings’ continuous support.
“We are very grateful for his support and advocacy over the years and urge more Diaspora residents to get involved and Adopt A Block. David was with us at our very first presentation of the 10-year plan for Kingston Creative at the UWI Imagine Kingston conference in 2017,” she said.
“Since then he has donated both resources and personal time as he believes in the vision of Kingston as the Creative capital of the Caribbean,” she continued.
