
In a first for the popular TVJ Schools’ Challenge Quiz tournament, Jamaican manufacturing and distribution company Derrimon Trading awarded shares as part of the prize package for the respective winning and runner-up teams, St Jago and Calabar high schools.
This groundbreaking move, done in collaboration with its Delect Foods brand, highlights the company’s commitment to nation-building and providing the next generation with essential financial education and tools for success.
As a part of the prize package from Delect Foods, the winning team, St. Jago High School, and the runner-up team, Calabar High School, have received an array of prizes aimed at fostering financial literacy and holistic development among students and coaches.
The prize breakdown is as follows:

Winning team St. Jago High School
- 25,000 Derrimon Trading shares for each member of the winning team (four core members and two coaches), totalling 150,000 shares.
- Delect Foods baskets for each member (four members and two coaches)
- Financial literacy workshop for the team and coaches focusing on ‘Investment for Beginners;’.
- J$100,000 cash prize for each player (four players)
Runner-Up Calabar High School
- 10,000 Derrimon Trading shares for each member of the runner-up team (four members and two coaches)
- Delect Foods baskets for each member (four members and two coaches)
- Financial literacy workshop for the team and coaches focusing on ‘investment for beginners’.
- J$50,000 cash prize for each player (four players)

The total prize value, including the shares, stands at J$1,275,600 along with additional baskets with an assortment of products from Delect Foods.
