KC striker Deshawn Byfield scored seven goals against Tarrant High, taking his tally for the season to 11 goals.

Defending champions Kingston College (KC) registered a massive 14-0 win over Tarrant High in Group B action of the ISSA Wata Manning Cup at the Stadium East on Thursday.

KC, which was recording their fifth straight win, saw seven goals from star striker Deshawn Byfield, who now has a total of 11 goals for the season.

This double hat-trick by Byfield will earn the school $100,000 from sponsor KFC, which awards hat-trick scorers $50,000. Byfield had scored three times already in KC’s 8-1 win over Kingston Technical.

Shareef Ricketts also scored three times against Tarrant and will also collect from KFC.

In other Group B games, Tivoli Gardens and Haile Sellasie battled to a 2-2 draw while Charlei Smith whipped Kingston Technical 3-1.

KC lead Group B with 15 points ahead of Tivoli Gardens High and Haile Selassie High on 10 points each. Charlie Smith High, with nine points, are fourth, just ahead of Jose Marti High on six points in fifth spot. Tarrant High are sixth on three points as Kingston Technical and the pointless Denham Town are out of contention.

The Vassell Reynolds-coached KC have rattled up 35 goals from five games, the most in the Manning Cup competition, while conceding only twice.

In other games, Vauxhall High trounced Greater Portmore High 9-0 at the Royal Lakes field in Group C and moved joint top with Jamaica College and STATHS on 12 points.

Both JC and STATHS will meet on Saturday in a big matchup. Both schools have met several times in the finals and semi-finals of the competition.

In Zone A, Holy Trinity High defeated Gaynstead High 3-1 to be on six points in sixth spot. Gaynstead remained pointless after suffering their fourth consecutive defeat.

St Jago High led the group with 12 points ahead of Excelsior High on nine points.

Calabar High thrashed Dunoon Park Technical 5-0 and moved into second spot in Group E with nine points. Ascot High clipped Meadowbrook High 1-0 and jumped to seven points in fourth spot.
