Digicel activates severe weather contingency plans

With the island now under a Tropical Storm Watch, Digicel has activated its severe weather contingency plans to ensure network stability and customer connectivity in the event of adverse weather conditions.
As part of its preparedness efforts, Digicel’s technical teams have completed readiness checks across all cell sites islandwide, ensuring backup power systems and fuel supplies are in place.
The company has also mobilised its field engineers to respond quickly to any weather-related incidents that may affect service.
Commenting on the company’s state of readiness, Stephen Murad, CEO of Digicel Jamaica, says: “The safety and connectivity of our customers and employees remain our top priority. We have taken all necessary steps to ensure that our network is as resilient as possible, and that our teams are on standby to act swiftly should conditions worsen.”
Digicel is also reminding customers to take the necessary steps to prepare by keeping their phones fully charged, having credit or data available, and staying tuned to official weather updates and emergency alerts.
