Digicel Jamaica is taking the business of social media influencer marketing to a whole new level of creativity that delivers tangible outcomes for corporate and individual brands.

In an era where social media influencers and content creators are forging new paths in the digital landscape, Digicel engaged 25 of Jamaica’s leading social media influencers on how to take
their digital marketing into a fresh era of engagement.

Held recently at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, the ‘Digicel Influencer Mixer’ also touched on empowering the young and eager online marketers on ways to improve their networking and entrepreneurial skills.

Supported by expert digital insights from Ewort Atkinson, Digicel head of digital media, the influencers garnered a greater understanding of how to measure the impact of their work – a key component to understanding their true span of influence.

Atkinson articulated, “For influencers, understanding your content’s sentiment and tracking your engagement metrics is crucial. This data not only helps you tailor your content to better meet the needs of your audience but also makes you more marketable to brands. At Digicel, we value this data to create successful campaigns and are committed to helping influencers leverage their potential for effective digital engagement.”

A tutor and publisher in the area of digital marketing, Atkinson also made the link between measuring an influencer’s impact and the consequential effect on their ability to earn even more.

From seasoned content creators to rising stars in the business, the mixer served as a platform for inspiring more creative content from the dynamic group of creators with specialities across real estate, sports, business, beauty, fashion, and entertainment. The interactive sessions also included presentations on digital marketing best practices and an electrifying panel discussion led by leading influencers in the digital space.

Social impact marketer and content creator, Joel Nomdarkham, reflected on the significance of the event: “The discussions at the ‘Influencer Mixer’ were an excellent reminder for us as creatives to treat our craft like a business, especially through the presentations on understanding our metrics and sentiment. It was a great initiative to pull a plethora of influencers together and I am excited to see the fruitful partnerships that will come from today’s initiative.”

For chief marketing officer at Digicel, Tari Lovell, the event was all about Jamaica’s creatives making a major impact that could take them beyond collaborating with local brands.

“The Influencer Mixer signals a whole new era in our digital community engagement. We get it – content is king, and the digital world relies on your influence,” he explained.

Lovell noted, “Digicel is authentically a Jamaican brand, and that’s why it is important to us that we engage with our Jamaican talents to help you build relationships with each other and to network with us for future collaborations. We’re here to share what we know, backed by insights, and introduce you to the experts who are skilled in their area to help you improve your brand and increase your visibility for the brands or causes you choose to support.”
