With an open mind and a little help from Qbit, I have explored the realm of binary coding.
My inquisitive nature had me wondering, what if I could turn binary art into binary code?
This was the result:
01000010 01001001 01001110 01000001 01010010 01011001 00100000 01000001 01010010 01010100
You must be thinking, ‘well, that is a head scratcher. What is this art enthusiast going on about?’
Well, to be honest, I was captivated by the visual artist, Robin Eley. He has quite an eclectic sensibility and his hyperrealism pieces are outstanding.
Eley truly has a knack for thinking outside the box which he exhibits with this work entitled, ‘The Binary Project’.
Robin Eley painted a 70-inch by 70-inch photorealistic image of his newborn twins, Fox and Jojo, in 2016.
In 2017, he then decided to give away 4,900 aluminum tiles; fractured images of the painting, to 46 countries around the world ‘for only the cost of postage and handling’ according to Eley.
If that wasn’t creative enough, Eley challenged those people to be a part of his ingenuity, by taking a picture of the tiles and uploading them to his digital platform. Of course, being the way some people are, quite a number of them uploaded their own images, things that were important to them and things that were frivolous.
Robin Eley then recreated the original painting with the images sent. This guy is a genius! A true artist.
This completed painting is awe-inspiring, a feat of creativity. It really does live up to its name …. The Binary Project.
